Private training courses and Mini-workshops

CSCCE’s professional development training courses and Mini-workshops can be delivered privately for your organization, project team, or members of your community, such as grantees or community champions. They’re a great way to develop shared language and mental models together and learn more about one another’s work.

Intended audiences include:

  • Program managers from the same organization or related organizations managing community-engaged projects
  • Participants in a champions or ambassador program working to launch community-engaged projects
  • Grantees working on similar community-engaged projects

The following CSCCE training courses can be delivered as private cohorts:

  • Scientific Community Engagement Fundamentals – a full private cohort of our foundational training for community managers in STEM [two live sessions per week for eight weeks]

  • Creating Community Playbooks – a full private cohort to support participants in creating core documentation for their community or project [two live sessions per week for seven weeks]

Mini-workshops available privately

CSCCE Mini-workshops are 90- to 120-minute sessions that introduce discrete ideas in community management or go deeper on a core framework. Some Mini-workshops can be clustered thematically if you are interested in a specific area of community management (for example, planning and facilitating meetings and events or interpersonal dynamics and team culture). Several of these workshops are also ideal if you are hosting a champions program and wish to include some training for your champions.

The following CSCCE Mini-workshops can be delivered as private training sessions:

  • Creating core values statements
  • Giving and receiving feedback
  • Enacting culture change: The Four-Frame model
  • Making a PACT for more engaging virtual meetings and events
  • Designing for effective decision-making during virtual meetings
  • Preparing and Designing for large-scale collaborations (two-part series)
  • Working with volunteers
