The Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement (CSCCE) champions the importance of human infrastructure for effective collaboration in STEM. We exist to professionalize scientific community management roles and to support their institutionalization across STEM organizations.
Our activities
CSCCE provides training and support for scientific community managers and we also research the impact of these emerging roles. We create resources on a variety of topics, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, virtual events, and online collaboration. We also convene a vibrant, international community of practice of over 350 scientific community managers where we provide infrastructure and staff time to aid working groups and special interest groups, and deliver regular programming including monthly community calls.

Do you take international payments? I’m not based in the US.
Yes. You can choose to make your donation in your preferred currency.
Can I set up a recurring donation?
Yes. We welcome recurring donations, and you can choose the frequency of payment.
What payment platform do you use?
We use FundRazr, a trusted crowdfunding platform with clients around the world. The payment portal is linked to our fiscal sponsor, Community Initiatives.
What is CSCCE’s relationship to Community Initiatives? Will all of my donation go directly to CSCCE?
Community Initiatives is our fiscal “home,” a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Oakland, California. While they will be the named entity on your donation, all of your contribution will go directly to funding CSCCE initiatives.
Are there any fees associated with my donation?
Yes. To maximize the impact of your support, you can chose to cover the 5% platform fee plus a 2% + $0.30 processing fee (fees subject to change).
