Processing theory

A decision-making theory proposing that the level of care or concern individuals have about a particular area directly influences how thoroughly they analyze their options. When people consider a decision domain highly important or personally relevant, they are more likely to engage in detailed evaluation of the costs and benefits before making their choice.
