SUMMARY:CSCCE Webinar ($): Hybrid events: Making hybrid events the best of both worlds
DESCRIPTION:As we move into the fall\, it’s likely that some of us are beginning to consider what hybrid meetings might look like – where some attendees participate in-person from the same location whereas others join remotely. This can be a challenging format to facilitate to ensure that everyone feels included and able to actively participate – and especially that remote attendees don’t feel like an afterthought. In this interactive webinar we’ll equip you with checklists and best practices so that your hybrid meetings are the best of both worlds – virtual and in-person. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:CSCCE Data Science SIG Panel
DESCRIPTION:Building Community around Data Sharing and Data Harmonization\nIn the spirit of open research\, many data-focused communities are focused on bringing researchers together to share common datasets. In some fields of research\, this type of sharing has previously been uncommon\, and domain-wide standards may not be in place for data sharing (ie. data type\, format\, and quality assurance standards). In this SIG meeting\, we will hear from CSCCE members representing communities across a range of maturity with respect to data sharing and data harmonization. The panel will be followed by questions and discussion about how we can support one another to build stronger community around data. Panelists:\n\nPajau Vangay – National Microbiome Data Collaborative\nErin McLean – Arctic Data Center\nZoe Leanza – AD Knowledge Portal\nAlycia Crall – National Ecological Observatory Network\n\nThis is a meeting of the CSCCE Data Science SIG. \nCall info: \nMeeting ID: 825 1485 6058 \nPasscode: 436161 \nFind your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kyMESKnJO

SUMMARY:CSCCE Social Hour
DESCRIPTION:We’re reviving social hour this week to create a space to informally check in on what’s a big week for many of us. Social hour has no agenda – and you can come for as little or as much as you like. You don’t need to come from the start – just drop in whenever works for you. \nIn the past\, this shared space has been a good way to make new connections\, to explore challenges\, swop interesting readings / Netflix shows\, talk through culture in scholarly communications\, career transitions and a lot more besides.  \nZoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82643327683?pwd=YW51bUNma1hPRXBYdStudmovK21Edz09
